FC Red Bull Salzburg is plagued by injury misfortune during the international break.

Particularly bitter: Justin Omoregie has suffered another serious injury. The 23-year-old sustained an ankle injury during the test match between Salzburg's cooperation partner FC Liefering and WSG Tirol.

According to a statement from Salzburg, Omoregie has already undergone surgery and will be out for a long time.

The Vienna-born player has a long injury history: groin problems, back problems, Achilles tendon tear, shoulder injury – setbacks that have hindered a successful career in recent years.

Aguilar Also Sidelined

Enrique Aguilar also has to take another enforced break. The young Swiss sustained a thigh injury during an U20 match against the Czech Republic. Further examinations are to follow for him.

Aguilar had suffered a forearm fracture in August during the Europa League qualification against Pafos and only made his comeback at the beginning of September.

Veratschnig and Redzic Also Out

Furthermore, captain Nikolas Veratschnig sustained a ligament injury in his right knee during his senior national team debut for Austria against Kosovo.

The 23-year-old has returned to Salzburg and will be "unavailable for several weeks".

Damir Redzic has been back in Salzburg since yesterday, Monday. The Hungarian had to be substituted during his country's Nations League clash with Ukraine after a rough challenge.

He suffered a ligament injury in his right ankle and will also be unavailable for a few weeks.
