Salzburg has Slovakian defensive talent on the radar
FC Red Bull Salzburg may have found what they're looking for in terms of defensive reinforcement.
FC Red Bull Salzburg is reportedly showing interest in a promising central defender talent from Slovakia.
As transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reports via "X", the "Bulls" have set their sights on Tobias Paliscak from Slovakian first-division club MSK Zilina. Besides Salzburg, two clubs from Italy are also said to be interested in the 18-year-old.
Regular Starter at Zilina
Paliscak is a current Slovakia U21 international and has already established himself as a regular starter at Zilina. In the current season, the central defender has not missed a single minute of play.
Paliscak already celebrated his breakthrough into the first team last season. With a market value of around 2.5 million euros, he is now by far the most valuable player in the squad of the Slovakian club.
His contract with Zilina runs until 2029. Therefore, a departure would likely only be considered by the club for an appropriate transfer fee.
Salzburg in Need of Defensive Reinforcement
Paliscak could represent an interesting option for Salzburg. This summer, two central defenders, Jannik Schuster and Joane Gadou, already left the club. So far, only Kevin Boma has been signed as a replacement.
A move could now become an issue for the Slovakian as well. Zilina recently missed out on qualification for the league phase of the UEFA Conference League. However, whether this will actually lead to a transfer is still open.
