SK Rapid has signed a youth player from German record champions FC Bayern Munich.

As announced by the Hütteldorfer on Friday, central midfield talent Leonhard Richert is moving to SK Rapid's U18 team. He signs a contract in Vienna until 2029.

Richert moved from Braunschweig to Munich in 2022, where he became a German youth international. Just this week, the 16-year-old was part of a training camp for the German U17 national team.

"Great Talent"

"I am delighted that we were able to sign Leonhard, a great talent from FC Bayern Munich. I am already looking forward to his development in our U18 and wish him all the best for the upcoming season in the ÖFB Youth League," says Rapid Managing Director Steffen Hofmann about the transfer.

"I am very happy to be here and to open a new chapter in my career. I deliberately chose this step. We want to achieve maximum success together, and I will give my all for that," Richert himself stated.
