FC Red Bull Salzburg is temporarily releasing Oliver Lukic.

The 19-year-old midfield talent will be loaned to league rival TSV Hartberg for the upcoming season. The clubs confirmed this on Saturday.

Lukic moved from the youth academy of Wiener Austria to Salzburg in summer 2022. Since then, he has played for the U18 of the Red Bull Academy (20 games, 5 goals), cooperation club FC Liefering (45 games, 4 goals), the "Bulls'" Youth League team (10 games, 2 goals), and the FC Red Bull Salzburg senior team (9 games).

Hartberg intensely pursued Lukic

In Hartberg, the Croatian-Austrian dual national is expected to gain significant playing time under Markus Schopp. The Styrians reportedly made intense efforts to sign Lukic.

"With Oliver, we gain a versatile creative player who can play as a number ten, eight, or six. He is a player with the quality to always be dangerous in the final third from different positions. I am very much looking forward to working with him and to the next steps together," said Schopp.

Lukic himself says: "I am hugely excited about the new challenge at TSV Hartberg. Thanks to everyone responsible for their trust. I will give my all to develop myself as an athlete and to help the team as best as possible. I am looking forward to the team, the fans, and finally getting started."
