Just 8 games in two years: Midfielder leaves Salzburg
The 26-year-old Japanese returns to his homeland.
FC Red Bull Salzburg and Takumu Kawamura are parting ways.
The Japanese player is returning to his homeland, joining first-division club Sanfrecce Hiroshima.
The 26-year-old midfielder arrived in Salzburg from there in the summer of 2024. In the following two seasons, Kawamura was only able to play eight matches due to several injuries.
"Takumu Kawamura had a difficult time with us due to various circumstances and unfortunately had very few appearances. He completed the current pre-season without problems and is now returning to his former club in good physical condition. We wish him all the best, good health, and much success," says Salzburg's Sporting Director Marcus Mann.
