Austria's Markovic Attracts Interest in Italy
The performances of the purple talent are attracting a Serie A club.
On Thursday, Vasilije Markovic celebrated his first competitive goal for Austria Wien's senior team in their 2-1 victory over Beitar Jerusalem in the first leg of their Conference League qualifier.
It was already the 18-year-old's 16th appearance for FAK, and his seventh in the starting eleven.
The fact that the Violets have a major talent in their ranks has not gone unnoticed by international clubs.
Lazio monitoring him
Italian media reports that the Austrian U21 international has attracted the interest of Lazio. The Rome club is reportedly looking into the midfielder.
However, it is considered highly unlikely that Markovic will leave Austria this season. His contract with Austria runs until summer 2028.
