Will LASK sign a centre-back from Scotland?
The Linz-based club is reportedly in advanced talks with a Briton. The 22-year-old currently plays in the Scottish Premiership.
LASK is pushing ahead with its transfer plans for the 2026/27 season.
As reported by British journalist Pete O'Rourke, Austria's double winners are reportedly working on signing centre-back Miguel Freckleton.
The 22-year-old is currently under contract with Scottish top-flight club St. Mirren. With the club, he won the League Cup last season.
According to O'Rourke, the Linz-based club is already in advanced negotiations with the defender. Since Freckleton's contract at St. Mirren runs until 2027, a transfer fee would be due for the Englishman with Jamaican roots.
Developed at Sheffield United
In the past season, the 22-year-old made 47 appearances across all competitions for the Scots, scoring four goals and providing one assist.
Freckleton was developed at Sheffield United. The Briton gained his first professional football experience during several loan spells in the fourth and fifth English leagues before moving to St. Mirren in the summer of 2025.
