Sturm shows interest in Polish defender
The 20-year-old has put himself in the shop window at his club; the Graz side needs to act in his position.
SK Sturm Graz is reportedly showing interest in Jakub Krzyzanowski from Wisla Krakow. This was reported by the Polish outlet "goal.pl".
The 20-year-old youth product of the traditional Polish club, which achieved promotion to the Ekstraklasa after four years in the second division, plays as a left-back.
Krzyzanowski is a five-time U20 international for Poland, and in the past season, he scored one goal and provided five assists in 30 games. In 2024/25, the left-footed player was loaned to FC Torino, registering eleven goal contributions in 29 appearances for the U20 team.
His contract with Wisla ends in the summer of 2027, but includes an option for a further year.
Need for Action at Left-Back
The Bundesliga runners-up certainly need to act on the left side of defense after Emir Karic's departure to the USA.
The "Blackies" only have one natural left-back in Emran Soglo, who has returned after his loan spell at Zulte-Waregem.
During the pre-season so far, coach Fabio Ingolitsch has tried several options, having already played Paul Koller, Albert Vallci, or Bastian Maierhofer from the second team at left-back.
Before their competitive season kicks off on July 21st in the Champions League qualifiers against Hearts of Midlothian, Sturm has friendly matches scheduled against SC Kalsdorf (July 8th), Sanfrecce Hiroshima (July 11th), and Pogon Stettin (July 15th).
