Shoulder surgery forces Sturm attacker into extended break
Seedy Jatta had to be substituted due to injury in the top match against LASK. He will now be unavailable for SK Sturm Graz for weeks.
With a 2-1 home win against LASK, SK Sturm Graz was able to close the gap to the top group.
However, the hard-fought match against the ADMIRAL Bundesliga leaders came at a high price. After a foul shortly after halftime, Seedy Jatta fell awkwardly on his shoulder, and the 23-year-old Norwegian had to be substituted in great pain.
As SK Sturm Graz announced on Monday, the attacker suffered a severe shoulder joint injury.
The Graz team will now have to do without Jatta for weeks. The ten-time Norway U21 international already underwent surgery on Monday.
Operation went well
"The joy of the victory against LASK is overshadowed by Seedy Jatta's injury. Seedy is an enormously important player for us, who we will miss greatly in the coming weeks. The operation went well and, knowing Seedy, he will give 100 percent every day in rehab to be available to us again as soon as possible," says Sturm's Managing Director Sport Michael Parensen.
