Kalajdzic demands penalty
Sasa Kalajdzic sees the situation differently. For the LASK striker, there should have been a penalty after the challenge against Flecker.
"For me, that is a very clear denial of a goal-scoring opportunity – it should have been a penalty," says Kalajdzic. He describes the missing VAR footage as "embarrassing."
"We made minor mistakes"
However, Kühbauer attributes the main fault for the defeat to his own team. In his view, LASK played better football but harmed themselves through simple errors and failed to convert available chances.
"At the end of the day, only the result counts," says Kühbauer. Sturm exploited LASK's errors better and therefore deservedly won.
Kalajdzic also sees it similarly. Both of Sturm's goals resulted from gross errors by LASK. At the same time, his team had enough opportunities to decide the match themselves.
For the Linz side, the main realization remains that they denied themselves a better result against a direct competitor through avoidable errors.
