The ink is dry: Maximilian Entrup leaves LASK and joins Eintracht Braunschweig.
The 28-year-old signs a contract with the German second-division club until 2028. "We clearly communicated from the start that we wanted to strengthen our attack with an experienced player. With Max, we have achieved exactly that," said Braunschweig's Sporting Director Benjamin Kessel in a press release.
"Will do the team a lot of good on and off the pitch"
Entrup possesses the necessary experience and also brings "composure and presence". Kessel also highlights Entrup's strengths "in link-up play, as well as in the box".
"Max is very present in the penalty area and has a nose for goal. Furthermore, he is characterized by great ambition and high performance demands. With these important qualities, he will do our young team a lot of good on and off the pitch," he enthused.
First Spell Abroad
For the three-time ÖFB national player (one goal) Entrup, it is his first spell outside Austria. This makes the move "special and exciting" for him, said the 28-year-old.
"Eintracht made a strong effort to sign me, which was extremely important in my decision and gave me a good feeling early on. I am a center-forward and always try to be dangerous with my presence and my nose for goal. I am convinced that with my strengths, I am at the right club here, and I am really looking forward to my time in Braunschweig. Let's go for it," he was quoted as saying.
Farewell After Two Years
LASK stated that they thanked Entrup for his commitment and wished him "all the best and much success for his new challenge in Germany."
For the Athletiker, Entrup made 62 competitive appearances in the past two years, scoring 15 goals.
