Alaba? Dragovic: "Do you really think Austria is that stupid?"

FK Austria Wien achieved a breakthrough on Sunday.

With a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Austria Lustenau, the "Violets" managed to climb out of the bottom of the table.

Captain Aleksandar Dragovic subsequently gave an interview to "Sky". Besides Valentino Müller's debut and the difficult past weeks, "Drago" also spoke with reporter Johannes Brandl about another explosive topic: David Alaba.

Dragovic responds to Schinkels' jibes

When asked whether the central defender had already called his friend and still clubless former teammate to convince him to return to Wien-Favoriten, Dragovic almost launched into a fiery speech. Frenkie Schinkels, in particular, did not fare well.

"When I listen to the podcasts, from Frenkie Schinkels and whatever their names are... With all due respect and whatever they want to be funny: Do you really believe Austria is so stupid that they haven't called David?", says Dragovic, referring to the latest episode of the football podcast "GelbRot".

In the latest episode, Schinkels says: "Don't get me wrong: But if nobody at Wiener Austria asked Alaba, the entire board should be locked up." Statements that did not go down well with the 100-cap ÖFB international.

"One needs to be realistic. I understand that these gentlemen want to be funny and get clicks. But one should also keep a low profile. We're not sleeping in Wien-Favoriten."
