After Fiala's Departure: Ried Has a New Sporting Director
28-year-old Lukas Brandl takes over the duties of Wolfgang Fiala, who is moving to SK Rapid.
Lukas Brandl is the new sporting director of SV Ried.
The 28-year-old, who has been working for the Innviertler since the 2021/22 season, thus takes over responsibility for the sporting development of the "Vikings". Brandl receives a contract until 2029.

No new face at SV Ried
Brandl, together with Fiala, was considered the architect of Ried's playing philosophy. "Now it is up to us to further develop this idea and align it with the new framework conditions, especially in the regulations," said the new sporting director.
"Lukas knows the club very well and has already, together with Wolfgang Fiala, created a solid sporting foundation, with which our club will be sustainably competitive in the Bundesliga," explained club boss Thomas Gahleitner regarding Brandl's appointment.
On Friday, the next tough test awaits SV Ried: In the Upper Austria derby, the Innviertler will face LASK.
