Oliver Strunz no longer has a place at SK Rapid.

The 26-year-old striker is currently only allowed to train with the second team. "I struggled mentally, but I have now come to terms with the situation and accepted it. But it's certainly not easy," Strunz explained in an interview with the "Krone".

Strunz has made 44 competitive appearances (6 goals) for the Green-Whites' first team during his career. However, he has not played a significant role in the Bundesliga team's plans for some time.

Fully fit, but...

In 2024, he was loaned to Altach, and then to FAC Wien in February 2025. After the end of his last loan spell in summer 2025, Strunz only featured for Rapid II. However, in the current ADMIRAL 2. Liga season, he wasn't even included in the squad.

It is "a difficult time." Because he is actually fully fit. "After everything that has happened, I'm not sure how things will proceed here."

Bundesliga or abroad?

A move is being sought. The goal for Strunz, who is still under contract at Rapid for another year, remains the Bundesliga.

"Because I have the quality and experience for it, I trust my abilities. But I wouldn't be averse to going abroad either."
