8./9. Nenad Cvetkovic and Serge-Philippe Raux-Yao

The two central defenders can actually only be considered and evaluated as a duo. While Cvetkovic quickly became a crowd favorite as a mentality monster, "SPRY" is the archetype of scouting focus on players from French-speaking circles.
While they formed the strongest center-back duo in the Bundesliga in their early days, they would probably be higher in the ranking if their performances had remained at that level.
7. Jakob Schöller

His time at Rapid started unfavorably due to injury, but now the young defender is fully back.
In Hütteldorf, he is on the verge of becoming a regular starter and a key player; as the new vice-captain, he gets to prove his leadership qualities even at 20 years old. No wonder Rapid had to fend off other interested parties.
6. Fally Mayulu

Sportingly, the young French striker never really settled in Vienna. So it also went unnoticed when the older brother of PSG talent Senny Mayulu moved on again.
Certainly not on the pitch, but definitely in the bank account: 3.5 million Euros was a surprisingly high transfer fee that could be generated. This makes Fally Mayulu one of Katzer's better deals.

Currently, Bolla only has a contract until the end of the season. Will he generate a transfer fee – or even extend his contract?

signed for 250,000 Euros from Cartagena, moved to Nice for 10 million Euros
The prime example of good data-based scouting. Picked up as a "nobody" from the Spanish second division, the Swede, after his acclimatization period, wreaked havoc on the wing at will and became an offensive life insurance.
This also became apparent when he had to sit out for an extended period at the end of 2024 – and after his departure, which could not be immediately compensated.
In the end, 45 games in one and a half years were enough for Jansson to recoup his purchase price 40-fold.

Markus Katzer's "masterpiece"! An unusual transfer from Red Bull Salzburg to a direct rival – especially because the Malian made an impact both sportingly and financially in Hütteldorf.
Although he still seemed unpolished and sometimes acted impetuously, such as during his sending off against Djurgården, Rapid and Sangaré were nevertheless a "perfect match" for each other: He elevated the midfield, and the club elevated him to another level.
Sangaré also became a record departure through his involvement in the resale from Lens to Brentford. Everything done right.
