No Release: Defender Remains at Rapid for Now
The defender has attracted interest after a good loan year. However, coach Johannes Hoff Thorup wants to examine him more closely.
Benjamin Böckle will remain at SK Rapid for the time being.
The 24-year-old defender had a good loan year at WSG Tirol and attracted the interest of several clubs, including SCR Altach.
However, coach Johannes Hoff Thorup is blocking a transfer for the left-back, telling the "Kurier": "Böckle was injured, which is why I can't assess him enough yet. I want to observe him more closely."
Böckle is an alternative on the left side of defense to Jannes Horn, who is still recovering from an Achilles tendon injury. It is unclear whether the German will be fit in time for the start of the season.
