Austria Re-Signs Legend Markus Suttner

Markus Suttner returns to Wiener Austria!

The 39-year-old will serve as an individual coach at the Violets' academy and support talents there.

As a true Austria legend, the defender brings a wealth of experience. In addition to 318 competitive matches in the Violets' jersey and 77 for their second team, Suttner also boasts extensive international experience.

He played a total of 76 matches in the German Bundesliga for FC Ingolstadt and Fortuna Düsseldorf. He also appeared 14 times in the Premier League for Brighton & Hove Albion. In 2013/14, he also played six games in the UEFA Champions League with Austria.

"I am delighted that we could bring in an Austria legend like Markus Suttner as an individual coach. The topic of individualization and working in positional groups should be even more strongly emphasized in player development. Sutti will make a valuable contribution here," said Academy Director Manuel Takacs.
