Another zero-pointer frustrates Altach: "Absolutely self-inflicted"
The Vorarlbergers could already be further ahead, but once again deprive themselves of success due to their own mistakes.
Third defeat in the fourth game of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga for SCR Altach – and again by only one goal.
The 1-2 loss against TSV Hartberg (Match Report>>>) hurts particularly, as the decision came just seconds before the final whistle.
"We only have ourselves to blame for not at least getting a point in the end," says Ognjen Zaric on "Sky". Because both opposing goals were easily avoidable in this case and based on our own mistakes: "Both goals are absolutely self-inflicted."
"I believe it was a bit overconfident. But it's no use pointing fingers at anyone now," says the Altach coach about the decisive goal.
Another poor start
However, the frustration wasn't only about the final moments.
Even in the first half, Hartberg's opener came with some help, which also frustrated Niklas Niehoff.
"We simply started poorly again. Just like in the home game against WSG Tirol, we foolishly began the evening with an early opposing goal," says the German.
"I can't even say why that is."
Fewer mistakes for a higher level
Thus, the Rheindörfler still stand with only three points, although their performances perhaps should have been enough for more.
"We have also shown against bigger opponents that we can compete. But if we ultimately want to be at the level where we see ourselves, we have to stop this. We can't concede a silly opposing goal every game – and today there were two. I'm at a loss for words," Niehoff affirmed.
And for Zaric, it was also a reminder: "If you're a little careless, you see what happens. How difficult these games are."
