The "Yann Massombo case" remains a hot topic in Altach.

The 26-year-old Frenchman is currently training individually. How things will proceed with him is uncertain. SCR Altach intends to make a statement early next week – therefore, Philipp Netzer did not want to preempt too much on "Sky" on the sidelines of the Bundesliga match against Hartberg.

However, the sporting director made his and the club's position clear: "We, as a club, and also the player, are the aggrieved parties. We are somehow in a vacuum, but we know exactly where this stems from and how this situation arose."

He attributes the blame to the soliciting club Sturm Graz: "I don't like that another club is being left out of this current discussion."

Between Understanding and Regret

Massombo himself, until his protest, was "the most inconspicuous player in terms of behavior who has played in Altach in recent years." "He is a down-to-earth, friendly, charismatic, and very decent player and person."

He did not want to defend Massombo: "He is a responsible individual, and he made this decision."

However, Netzer did not want to imagine the pressure situation his attacking player must have been under: "One must, in a certain way, understand what goes on in a person in such a situation."
