Last-minute relief! "Zero goals, zero points is a burden"
Hartberg celebrates a first success in the very last moment. Markus Schopp allows only brief relief.
A goal could hardly be more redemptive.
Not only because Benjamin Markus decided the away match in Altach 2-1 for TSV Hartberg in the very last moment (Match report>>>). But also because the East Styrians had to wait until the fourth round of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga for this first season victory.
Having to leave without a full success once again would not have been very relaxing. Now life is easier for the former bottom team.
"A huge weight has been lifted, this is a super good day," Angelo Gattermayer rejoiced on "Sky" about his first two successes in blue: his first Bundesliga goal and victory.
With a Result "It Gets More Pleasant"
For Markus Schopp too, it was the first "three points" after his return: "For some players who were on the pitch, these are the first steps. And it's also an emotional game because, for me, it felt like it could go either way in the last 15-20 minutes. That it then turns out in our favor at the last second is, of course, nice – and in the end, I don't think it's undeserved either."
He hopes for a relieving effect, "because to stand there after three games with zero points and zero goals, that's a burden, an issue for some. With such a result, the assessment becomes more pleasant."
Which doesn't mean that the comeback coach is overly satisfied. "We were very prone to errors, made many possession phases totally inefficient in the first half. Because of that, we were also very passive. Actually, the plan was to be a bit more active, but the opponent also forced us to be defensive."
Hartberg is "still far from how we envision the game developing."
Another One is Coming
A new arrival can also provide a remedy. As Erich Korherr revealed earlier, there could soon be something to announce.
"We've been talking for weeks and are very patient with certain decisions. But we already have a few positions where I believe we need to keep our eyes open. And if Erich says something will happen in the next few days, then I'm happy about that," said Schopp, who wasn't allowed to completely rest on his feigned ignorance.
"It wouldn't be credible if I said I knew nothing. But it's a reinforcement that makes us more flexible."
