Austria's U21 team draws 1-1 with Denmark in the European Championship qualifier at the Sport-Club-Stadion.

Both teams approach the first half with attacking intent. A fast-paced, physical game unfolds.

There are chances on both sides. Austria gets the first real big opportunity after 37 minutes when a Hödl cross is dangerously deflected towards their own goal by a Dane. However, goalkeeper Sander reacts strongly.

Shortly after, Dursun has the chance to make it 1-0 after a misplaced pass by the Danes, but Sander is again the winner (42'). In the next action, a Zabransky header whistles just over the bar (43').

Harder Puts Denmark Ahead, Kojzek Equalizes for Austria

At the start of the second half, Denmark takes the lead out of nowhere. Zabransky tries to play the ball back to Jungwirth after a free-kick and goes down after a challenge with Byskov. However, the referee's whistle remains silent. Byskov breaks away, sets up Harder, who scores to give them the lead (50').

Austria then pushes for the equalizer – and they get it. Weinhandl shoots from the edge of the box, substitute Kojzek deflects it, and the score is 1-1 (69').

Exciting Stoppage Time

The Austria youngsters continue in the same vein; shortly after, Wurmbrand has a chance to take the lead but narrowly misses (72'). Denmark barely creates anything more, pinned back in their own half by Perchtold's side.

In stoppage time, the Danes suddenly find their rhythm again and create two good opportunities, but fail to convert either. In the seventh minute of stoppage time, Denmark's Askou is shown a red card for denying a clear goal-scoring opportunity. The resulting free-kick is the last action, with Puczka putting it over the bar.

So, the match ends 1-1, a game in which Austria could have achieved more given the number of chances. The young Austria team thus remains in third place in Group I, three points behind the Danes.
