ÖFB: He Starts in Goal Against Ireland
In the third match, the national team coach opts for the third goalkeeper in the current training camp.
In the third match of this training camp, Ralf Rangnick is giving the third goalkeeper a chance. Following Alexander Schlager (Israel) and Christian Zawieschitzky (Kosovo), he will start Florian Wiegele from Viktoria Pilsen on Thursday in Ireland (from 8:45 PM in the LIVE ticker >>>).
The national team coach confirmed this to "ORF". There has been considerable movement in the goalkeeping team recently. Zawieschitzky had originally departed from the A-team for the U21s. Because the Salzburg goalkeeper is out injured, LASK shot-stopper Lukas Jungwirth has also left the A-team camp for the U21s.
In return, Matteo Bignetti (Saarbrücken) from the U21s joins the A-team as the third goalkeeper alongside Wiegele and Schlager.
