The ÖFB brings Maximilian Ritscher on board as the new assistant coach for the senior national team.

The association officially announced this as part of the squad announcement for the upcoming Nations League matches.

Ritscher is currently an assistant coach at LASK and will continue to perform this role. The 32-year-old fills the void at the ÖFB left by Lars Kornetka after his move to Eintracht Braunschweig.

Interim Coach Twice Already

Ritscher had already been on the sidelines for LASK as interim head coach twice, but returned to a secondary role each time after the appointments of Joao Sacramento and Dietmar Kühbauer.

Ritscher had to end his playing career early due to injury and entered the coaching business in 2018. He worked his way up through the Linz academy to the professional team.
