Million-Euro Market Value! MLS Talent Moves to 2. Liga
From L.A. to the 2. Liga! A promoted club secures a promising attacking gem.
FC Wacker Innsbruck signs Virgilio Olaya.
The 18-year-old Ecuadorian moves on loan from Los Angeles FC to the newly promoted 2. Liga side.
Only a few days prior, the MLS club had signed the centre-back from SD Aucas in his home country.
Sporting Director Jakob Griesebner: "Virgilio is one of the best defenders in his age group in Ecuador – otherwise Los Angeles FC wouldn't have acquired him. The fact that he's taking the next step with us shows how well the collaboration with our partner works. For us, it's an opportunity to introduce a great talent to professional football."
The 1.88-meter tall right-footed player has so far made nine appearances in the Ecuadorian top flight. With a market value of 1.2 million Euros, Olaya is, according to "transfermarkt.at", the second most valuable player in the league.
