Sturm Graz Talent Moves to Olympique Lyon

In the summer of 2025, SK Sturm Graz introduced centre-back Ismael Jabateh from the AJ Auxerre youth academy.

The Frenchman failed to make an impact at Sturm II, playing just one game in the ADMIRAL 2. Liga and one for the Graz U18 team.

Now, the 19-year-old is returning to France to join Olympique Lyon. "Even for enormously talented players like Ismaël Jabateh, the move to another country, a different football culture, and away from their familiar environment is often difficult. Even though things didn't work out for him in Graz, we would like to thank Ismaël for his commitment and wish him all the best for his future career," said Sporting Director Michael Parensen.
