Second-division club SKU Amstetten strengthens its goalkeeping position by signing Thomas Turner.

The 28-year-old was most recently under contract with Blau-Weiß Linz but did not play a single match for the Linz club. Before that, Turner played for SKN St. Pölten in the 2023/24 season, and in the 2021/22 season, he made 28 appearances between the posts for SK Vorwärts Steyr. Prior to that, he was under contract with LASK and played for Juniors OÖ.

With the signing of Turner, Amstetten is reacting to the tense personnel situation in goal, as reserve keeper Gabriel Sykora is out with a meniscus injury.

"With Thomas Turner, we have succeeded in finding a suitable solution," quotes sporting director Thomas Gebauer.

Turner has proven his quality in recent years and shown that he is a reliable and high-performing goalkeeper. "At the same time, he also fits perfectly into our team and our existing team structure on a personal level. We are therefore very pleased that we were able to strengthen our goalkeeping team with his quality and experience, and we are very much looking forward to our time together."

Turner says: "I am very much looking forward to the new challenge and being part of SKU Amstetten. The talks were very positive from the beginning, and I immediately had a good feeling. Now I look forward to supporting the team in the best possible way and being successful together."
