From Russia: Vienna signs veteran midfielder
The Döbling-based club secures the services of an experienced Croatian. He arrives from Russia's second division.
First Vienna FC 1894 finalizes its next transfer.
Filip Mrzljak joins Austria's oldest football club. The 33-year-old Croatian arrives from Russian second-division side FK Ufa. No transfer fee is required.
Sporting Director Didi Elsneg: "With Filip, we gain a very experienced midfielder who has played at a high level in several European leagues. He brings a lot of quality and footballing intelligence and will provide valuable impetus to our team both on and off the pitch. With his experience and personality, he can exude the necessary calmness and take responsibility, especially in difficult situations (...)."
Developed at Dinamo Zagreb
The former Croatian youth international spent the majority of his career abroad.
The central midfielder, developed at Dinamo Zagreb, played 96 games in the Romanian top flight for Pandurii, Astra Giurgiu, and FC Dinamo București.
Mrzljak also gained experience in his Croatian homeland (HNK Gorica) and in India with Punjab FC.
