The Ukrainian U21 international is moving on loan from Dynamo Kyiv to the Bundesliga relegated club. The contract runs until the end of the season and includes a purchase option.
For the 22-year-old attacking player, it is the second consecutive loan transfer; he spent the last two seasons at Lechia Gdansk in the Polish Ekstraklasa. In addition, the Dynamo Kyiv academy product has already gained experience in the Ukrainian Premier League and on the international stage.
Köllner highlights "great qualities on the ball"
Sporting director Christoph Schößwendter praises his attitude above all: "Anton has shown us in every respect how much he wants to make this move. Not only did he agree to travel to Linz for a week, but also his manner – how he integrated himself from day one – gave us a very good feeling from the start. Furthermore, we were able to get a clear picture directly on site of the great footballing qualities he possesses."
"Our impressions in recent days in our training and in the test match regarding Anton's playing and performance strength, as well as his character, led us to a compelling decision: We want Anton to wear our jersey in the future and contribute to our game. He possesses great qualities on the ball, but also still has a lot of potential that we want to unlock in the coming weeks and months. I personally am very much looking forward to Anton now becoming part of our team," head coach Michael Köllner expresses his anticipation for the collaboration.
