Stefan Hierländer remains with SK Sturm!

The long-serving captain will serve as assistant coach for Sturm II in the future. The "Blackies" announced this on Monday via a press release.

Diverse Tasks with a Clear Focus

"Stefan Hierländer is not only a future legend of this club, he also embodies numerous virtues that SK Sturm has always stood for and will continue to stand for in the future," says Sturm's Managing Director Sport Michael Parensen.

Accordingly, it was clear that they wanted to keep Hierländer tied to the club even after his career ended. The focus of Hierländer's work will be individual player development. He will also "contribute in areas of the club's office and gain experience as well as provide immediate support," according to Parensen.

"Several Doors Have Opened"

"I don't need to explain how much this club means to me and what connects me to it. Fortunately, several doors opened for me after the end of my active playing career, but I am very happy that I can continue to work here at the club and contribute something with the experience I have gained over many years in professional football," says Hierländer himself.

He is already looking forward to his new role: "I am very much looking forward to working with the young talents of Sturm II and also to being able to contribute in other areas of the club and gain new experiences here."
