Has Domen Prevc found new centimeters in his equipment?

Domen Prevc was almost unbeatable in the past ski jumping season: He won the Four Hills Tournament, the Overall World Cup, gold at the Ski Flying World Championships, and two gold medals at the Olympics.

The 27-year-old Slovenian was the benchmark and ideally wants to be so again in the coming season. To ensure this, several adjustments were made over the summer – including to his equipment.

As Prevc revealed this week at the press conference introducing a new main sponsor for the Slovenian federation, he was in intensive discussions with ski manufacturer Peter Slatnar.

Prevc fully utilizes "privilege"

"We are constantly looking for small details," reveals Prevc, who spent six hours with Slatnar immediately after the end of last season in Planica.

"We are very fortunate to have a very good development with Peter Slatnar for skis, bindings, and boots. That is a privilege one should definitely take advantage of."

He doesn't want to reveal too much. Only this much: He is proceeding "centimeter by centimeter."

Explosiveness and quick strength at a new level

However, the Slovenian sees potential for improvement not only in his equipment – he also wants to work on his jumping style. For instance, his take-off and the position immediately after leaving the ramp could be improved, according to Prevc.

At least concerning explosiveness and quick strength, he was able to make great progress during his summer preparation, reveals the Olympic ski jumping champion.

He plans to properly test his new findings for the first time on September 19 at the Continental Cup in Stams.
