French Freeride Star Dies in Avalanche Accident
Juliette Willmann dies in an avalanche in Argentina. Before her career as a freerider, she was also active in ski racing.

French freerider Juliette Willmann died on Tuesday in an avalanche accident.
The 29-year-old was on vacation with her husband. The accident occurred during a ski tour on Cerro Creston. The 2,050-meter-high mountain is located near the city of El Chalten.
Her husband was rescued and, according to media reports, is out of danger, but for her, all help came too late.
Career as Freerider and Skier
Willmann was active on the Freeride World Tour from 2019 to 2022. She was one of the most well-known athletes in this sport in her country. She finished the 2022 season in ninth place overall.
She was also a professional skier until 2013. She competed in various FIS races. However, it was not enough for a podium finish.
