Reideborn Shutout and two braces! Caps clearly beat Sharks
The Viennese blow off some steam after their recent "slap" from Milano. There are several match-winners. Hungarian Derby goes to Green-White.
The Vienna Capitals secure a comfortable 4-0 home victory over HC Innsbruck in the seventh round of the win2day ICE Hockey League.
A decisive trio includes Jeremy Gregoire and Jakob Lilja, who each recorded braces, and goaltender Adam Reideborn with 28 saves and the shutout. Linden Vey also contributed two assists.
The Caps showed particular strength on the power play: The first three goals by Gregoire (12th and 44th) and Lilja (17th) all came on the power play. Lilja added the final goal (59th).
With nine points, the Viennese are seventh, right in the thick of the tight midfield, while Innsbruck is tenth with eight points.
Decisive Victory in the Derby
Of all places, away in the derby, Ferencvaros secured a decisive victory: The Green-Whites from the Hungarian capital celebrated a 5-2 success against Fehervar AV19.
As second-to-last, "Fradi" now puts six points between themselves and last-place Pioneers.
