No Races Next Season: Biathlon Star Takes Maternity Leave
The two-time Olympic champion announces that she will not be competing next winter.
Swedish biathlete Hanna Öberg will not compete in the upcoming biathlon season.
At the beginning of the week, she clarified via Instagram that her focus for the coming weeks and months will be on her pregnancy and health.
However, in the future, the 30-year-old aims to return to the World Cup circuit: "Don't expect to see me compete this winter, but the goal of returning to the highest level is more relevant than ever."
In July, she and her partner, fellow biathlon star Martin Ponsiluoma, publicly announced the pregnancy. Öberg is expecting her first child.
