Lindsey Vonn gets street named after her and...
The Olympic ski champion was showered with honors to mark her 20-year partnership with "Under Armour".
Skiing superstar Lindsey Vonn received a major honor this week.
To mark her 20-year partnership with sportswear manufacturer "Under Armour", a street in Baltimore was dedicated to the 41-year-old American.
What was previously "West Peninsula Drive" in Baltimore now bears the name "Lindsey Vonn Way".
"This is the only street ever named after me. I am incredibly grateful for all the support," Vonn told her cheering fans during a grand celebration held in her honor in Baltimore.
...and a holiday too
As if that were not enough, Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott officially declared November 4 as "Lindsey Vonn Day".
The US ski queen is a great role model for young women and above all exudes incredible perseverance and determination, Scott said.
Vonn is the longest-signed athlete for the company, which has its headquarters in Baltimore.
