The Austrian defenseman did not make the game day roster in Utah's 4-2 road loss against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.
It marks the second straight defeat for the Mammoth, who drop to fifth place in the Central Division as a result.
15 losses in 16 games for Rossi
Meanwhile, Marco Rossi and the Vancouver Canucks suffered their fifth consecutive loss on Saturday, falling 4-2.
The Canucks kept the all-Canadian clash at the Edmonton Oilers tight until the final period on Saturday (local time), before the Oilers, led by superstars Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, sealed the home victory.
McDavid picked up three assists, extending his streak of recording at least one point in all 18 games this season. Draisaitl scored two goals and added an assist. Rossi logged 13:56 of ice time for Vancouver.
For the Canucks, who remain at the bottom of the standings, it was their 15th defeat in their last 16 games.
Kasper still injured
Meanwhile, the Detroit Red Wings, still without injured Carinthian Marco Kasper, suffered their third straight loss, falling 4-0 on the road against the Colorado Avalanche.
