Alpine Ski World Championships 2029
"No... I'm not announcing my comeback with this," the Norwegian quickly clarifies in her post.
The 34-year-old will take on a role off the icy World Cup slopes in the future. Mowinckel is joining forces with the organizing committee in Narvik and will serve as an ambassador for the 2029 Alpine Ski World Championships.
With the Norwegian, Narvik gains a well-known and popular figurehead. In her active career, Mowinckel celebrated 14 World Cup podium finishes, including four victories, and won three bronze medals at World Championships.
In March 2024, she competed in her last World Cup race in Saalbach-Hinterglemm.
Narvik Recently Under Criticism
The Norwegian town of Narvik has not recently made positive headlines. The planned World Cup races in March 2027 had to be cancelled.
The organizer was not as far along as desired. Instead, the planned races will take place in Kvitfjell.
