"I cried" - Lindsey Vonn Reaches Milestone
The four-time overall Ski World Cup winner is on the road to recovery - and recently experienced a special highlight.
At the 2026 Olympic Games in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Lindsey Vonn suffered a complex leg fracture that required several operations.
Since then, the 41-year-old American has been on the arduous road back, where every small success is a welcome gift.
For example, her first ride on a road bike. "For the first time back on a road bike... I cried. I'm happy and grateful," Vonn writes, posting photos and videos of her successful outing.
In the Olympic downhill crash, Vonn suffered a complex tibia fracture, fractures of the fibular head, of the tibial plateau in her left leg, as well as a fracture of her right ankle. Whether the skier will return to the World Cup circuit is not yet decided.
