Is Liechtenstein facing a historic exit from the Ski World Cup?
The nation could be unrepresented by any skier for the first time since the introduction of the World Cup.
This winter, Liechtenstein will likely disappear as a nation from the Ski World Cup.
After Marco Pfiffner recently announced his retirement, there will be no male skier at the highest level of the sport. This has never happened since the introduction of the World Cup in 1967. Hanni Wenzel, Andreas Wenzel, Tina Weirather, and Marco Büchel once secured great successes for the small country.

The 32-year-old Pfiffner was dropped from the squad in the summer and would have had to secure funding for the upcoming winter by himself.
Among the women, Charlotte Lingg could compete, but the technical specialist recently had to take a break due to injury, so her participation is currently uncertain.
