Swiss Joana Hählen only declared her career over in March – now she has gotten married.

In early March, skier Joana Hählen announced her retirement, and in early October, wedding bells rang.

The 34-year-old and her now-husband Lorenz said "I do" last weekend in the Swiss mountains.

Many former colleagues from her Ski World Cup days were also invited to the wedding of the former downhill racer. Among the guests were Tina Weirather, Michelle Gisin, Jasmina Suter, and Delia Durrer.

Ragnhild Mowinckel was also invited and posted some pictures after the ceremony:

Hählen Raced with Torn Cruciate Ligaments

Joana Hählen reached the World Cup podium five times in her career, the last of which was in December 2023 in the Val d'Isere downhill. A victory eluded her.

However, the Swiss skier's career was also marked by injuries. Among other things, Hählen raced for long stretches of her career with torn cruciate ligaments in both knees.
