Meillard: "Would take away value from every medal"
Loic Meillard conceded that he could understand "that it would be good financially," but "for the athletes, it would be a shame, because that would take away the value of every medal."
Overall World Cup winner Marco Odermatt strikes a similar note. "That simply takes away the value," he said in reference to the annual awarding of medals.
Three-time Olympic champion Franjo von Allmen reacted less diplomatically. "Personally, I think it's sh*t, honestly," said the 25-year-old. "I think it's good the way it is."
