Italian Ski Veteran Skips Training Camp
The now 37-year-old has other plans. However, he plans to travel to Chile later.
Dominik Paris has won almost everything in his active career as a skier!
The now 37-year-old Italian has stood on the top step of the podium in 26 World Cup races, is a World Champion and an Olympic bronze medalist. This coming winter, he will embark on his 18th season.
He made his debut on December 18, 2008.
Paris Has Other Plans
However, he will complete his preparation somewhat differently than his teammates. While the Italian team departed for a training camp in Argentina in mid-August, the veteran has other plans.
"I'm not skiing around on ice; you only scratch your skis there," Paris told "Alto Adige" with a grin. Instead, the Italian is completing his fitness program at home. "For me, it makes no sense to train on the glacier in these conditions."
Starting in Chile
The conditions in Argentina are particularly suitable for giant slalom and slalom specialists. Paris himself only competes in the speed disciplines. In the past, however, he still didn't miss the training camp.
However, he will not completely forgo a training camp. In September, he will travel to Chile to prepare for the season there.
