Rushed Home from South America: Downhill Racer Becomes a Dad for the First Time
The 34-year-old and his wife Marie have become parents for the first time.
Good news from the Giezendanner household!
As World Cup downhill racer Blaise Giezendanner revealed in his Instagram story, his son Gabriel was born this week.
It is the first child for the 34-year-old Frenchman and his wife Marie.
To be present at the birth of his son, Giezendanner left the training camp in South America early.
A World Cup Podium in Kitzbühel
Giezendanner has achieved one World Cup podium finish to date – notably in the Kitzbühel downhill in 2022, where he placed third.
In January 2025, the Frenchman tore his cruciate ligament in Wengen, but Giezendanner was back on the World Cup circuit last season. His best result was 14th place in the Gröden downhill.
