Early Thursday morning, the world number one suffered a 6:7(7), 4:6 defeat to Czech Sara Bejlek in the round of 16.
This means the 28-year-old exits in the round of 16, mirroring her recent early departures in Toronto and at Wimbledon a few weeks ago.
The US Open begin on August 30, where Sabalenka will compete as the defending champion.
