No home final in doubles! Grabher/Kraus fall in the semifinals
For the ÖTV duo Julia Grabher and Sinja Kraus, their journey in the Kitzbühel doubles competition ends in the semifinals.
Julia Grabher and Sinja Kraus missed out on a spot in the doubles final at the WTA tournament in Kitzbühel.
The ÖTV players had to concede defeat to the second-seeded Spanish-Brazilian duo Yvonne Cavalle-Reimers/Laura Pigossi with a score of 2:6 and 3:6.
The first set was evenly contested for a long time before Grabher/Kraus had to give up their serve at 2:4, shortly after which they conceded the break, leading to the loss of the set.

The two Austrians also managed to keep the second set balanced. It was only the break at 3:5 that decided the match, after which Cavalle-Reimers/Pigossi were able to serve out – the ÖTV duo had squandered two break points in the process.
In singles, both local tennis aces are still in the competition: On Friday, both Grabher against Jeline Vandromme (BEL) and Kraus against Erika Andreeva (RUS) will play for a spot in the semifinals in the second match after 11 AM, respectively.
