Grabher eliminated in Mallorca quarter-finals
The Vorarlberg native is defeated by a local favourite in two sets.
For Julia Grabher, the WTA Challenger in Mallorca ended in the quarter-finals.
The Vorarlberg native lost to Spain's Ariana Geerlings (WTA-505) in two sets, 6:7(4), 3:6.
The 30-year-old actually started well, immediately going up 2-0 in the first set. However, she was immediately re-broken.
At 4-3, she managed another break to make it 5-3, but the Spaniard again countered with a re-break. The local favourite then prevailed in the tie-break.
Grabher also secured an early break in the second set, pulling ahead to 3-1. However, Geerlings managed to level at 3-3 and then quickly won the set 6-3.
