Manageable Opening Draw for Jurij Rodionov at Erste Bank Open
Top stars Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz also know their first opponents!
The first-round matchups for the Erste Bank Open 2026 have been determined.
Austria's number two, Jurij Rodionov, has a guaranteed spot in the main draw of the ATP 500 tournament in Vienna thanks to a wildcard.
He will face Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili (ATP No. 108). However, the 34-year-old comes to Vienna in good form. At the ATP 250 tournament in Almaty, he is in the semifinals against Stefanos Tsitsipas.
Tough Draw for Alcaraz
Tournament top seed Alexander Zverev will open against Spain's Martin Landaluce (ATP No. 67).
Carlos Alcaraz has drawn a tough opponent right from the start. He will face the 2024 Vienna finalist, Karen Khachanov (RUS/ATP No. 24). Should he win, the Spaniard would meet the winner of the Rodionov - Basilashvili match.
Other high-class first-round matchups include Lorenzo Musetti (ITA/ATP No. 27) against Frances Tiafoe (USA/ATP No. 9), as well as Tommy Paul (USA/ATP No. 14) against Andrey Rublev (RUS/ATP No. 22).
