Bresnik contradicts: Cooperation with Schwärzler "not finalized"
The ÖTV talent is currently only on probation with Günter Bresnik.
Several media reports on Friday stated that Günter Bresnik would become the new coach of ÖTV talent Joel Schwärzler.
The 65-year-old partially denied these rumors to the "SN".
Probation period in Südstadt
Günter Bresnik claims that the training partnership is not yet a long-term agreed-upon matter: "Nothing is really finalized there yet."
For two weeks, Schwärzler has been training with him in Südstadt as a kind of trial period.
However, a longer-term cooperation with the ÖTV talent is not unrealistic: "If he were to participate in the preparation, that would already be a step in that direction for me. And that currently looks serious."
Schwärzler is still looking for his big breakthrough
For several years, Schwärzler has been considered the greatest talent in Austrian men's tennis and was already dubbed the 'next Dominic Thiem' in his youth. However, the 20-year-old has not yet achieved his big breakthrough.
According to his own statements, the Vorarlberg native is not one of the strongest trainers. On the sidelines of the last Davis Cup in Vienna, Schwärzler emphasized that he was looking for a coach like Bresnik in terms of profile: "I need a coach who kicks my ass. Also, he is known to have had great success as a coach."
