Djokovic Downs Zverev in Beijing Quarterfinals
The Serbian "oldie" turns the match in his favor after losing the first set.
At the ATP 500 tournament in Beijing (hardcourt), Alexander Zverev was defeated by Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals with scores of 6:4, 4:6, 4:6.
The first set went to Zverev, who decisively broke "Djoker" in the very first game and then served out for the set.
The tables turned in the second set: Djokovic broke Zverev's serve at 4:4 and then served out to level the match.
"Djoker" Ramps Up
In the decisive third set, Zverev, serving at 4:5, was on the brink of leveling at 5:5, holding a 40:0 lead. But Djokovic ultimately turned the game around and converted his second match point for the win.
In the next round, the veteran will face Daniil Medvedev.
