Qualifying defeat for Misolic in Bulgaria
The 25-year-old was defeated in the second qualifying round of the Challenger tournament.
At the ATP Challenger tournament in Plovdiv (Bulgaria), Filip Misolic was defeated in three sets by Romania's Sebastian Gima (ATP-605) in the second qualifying round. Misolic lost 3:6, 6:4, 3:6 in 2 hours and 9 minutes.
The 25-year-old dropped his first two service games, and in the second set, Misolic was broken three times. However, after fending off two set points from Gima, he was still able to level the match at 1-1.
Misolic even started the third set with a break on Gima's first serve, but ultimately being broken three consecutive games was too much – the Romanian won the match on his fourth match point.
For Misolic, who was sidelined for six months this year due to injury, his rather sluggish form continues. In Tulln, he at least won his first match since his comeback. In the ATP world rankings, the Styrian is now only ranked 476th.
