Tournament Wins for Medvedev and Davidovich Fokina in China
The two warm-up tournaments for the Masters event in Shanghai have been decided. A Spaniard triumphed in Chengdu after a two-month injury break.

With the two ATP 500 tournaments in Beijing and Tokyo, as well as the Masters in Shanghai, three major events are on the horizon.
Before that, however, the two ATP 250 tournaments in Chengdu and Hangzhou were held in China – and the winners there have now been determined.
Davidovich Fokina Triumphs After Injury Break
In Chengdu, Spain's Alejandro Davidovich Fokina surprisingly prevailed.
The 27-year-old defeated Poland's Hubert Hurkacz in the final in two sets, 6:4 and 7:6 (7).
Although Davidovich Fokina was seeded second, the Spaniard had been out for more than two months due to injury before the tournament. In Chengdu, he celebrated his comeback. On his way to the final, he overcame Juan Manuel Cerundolo, Alexandre Müller, and Nikoloz Basilashvili.
Medvedev Secures Third Season Title
Daniil Medvedev also had reason to celebrate in Hangzhou. In the final, the 30-year-old defeated his Russian compatriot Andrey Rublev 7:5 and 6:4.
Medvedev, currently ranked world number six, presented a dominant performance. Previously, he had defeated Valentin Royer, Coleman Wong, and Roman Safiullin – only against Wong did he drop a set.
For Medvedev, the title is certainly a breakthrough. After a challenging second half of the year, the Russian was able to celebrate his third tournament victory of the season in Hangzhou.
